This is an ancient variety, from which in the 15th century in the Netherlands, the orange variety that prevails to this day was bred. Natural pigments, anthocyanins, are responsible for the color of black carrots. The taste is identical to the orange variety, although it seems a bit sweeter. It tastes great and looks even better. It will be perfect in desserts, sauces or cakes, serving not only a flavor function, but also being a natural dye.
